SENDING BULK SMS MESSAGES
Make sure that you’re the application has been configured by Support for SMS messaging from within Assisi before attempting to send bulk SMS messages.
Bulk messages are sent by adding the recipients to a list, as follows.
-
Create your list making sure that you add the Ticked token (which will generate a selection box for each list entry) and the ClientRef and/or AnimalRef tokens to the list. Additional tokens can be added as desired, ie client surname, first line of address, etc. It is also useful to include the clients' mobile phone numbers on the list so that you can check that these are valid before sending, together with the tick box setting alongside the mobile phone number which indicates whether the client has agreed to accept text messages to that number for marketing purposes.
-
Create an SMS Template (Desktop>System Setup Menu>Communication>SMS Messaging Templates).
-
Add
your entries to the list, ie the clients to whom you wish to send
the text message: -
This can be done manually by clicking the Plus sign on the > right-hand toolbar of the list itself and searching for the client > and/or animal;
or
-
You can import the entries from the results of an SQL ad-hoc report.
Make sure that the CustomerRef token and/or the AnimalRef token is included in the Select Clause of the report, otherwise the Save to List option will not become active. Also make sure that the report checks for the existence of a mobile number with a tick alongside it.
Execute the report, respond to any prompts and select the Save to List option on the toolbar once the results have been displayed. The entries can either be added to the existing entries on the list or the existing entries can be replaced by the current entries.
-
You can then review the list and remove or update any entries, as appropriate.
Select
all of the entries by clicking Select All.
Individual entries can then be deselected if required by clicking on the tick box.
-
Click SMS on the right-hand toolbar.
-
Select your SMS template from those available in the drop-down list.
-
Click Send. The text messages will be marked as pending initially and subsequently sent to the clients, usually within 15 minutes.
Individual
entries can then be deselected if required by clicking on the tick
box.
