INTERNAL MESSAGING SYSTEM

The internal mail system allows you to send messages to Assisi users - either individual users, a group of users, or a combination of both.

MAINTAIN MAIL GROUPS

Mail Groups can be maintained separately to User Groups so that a Mail User can be a member of more than one Mail Group. This does not apply to standard User Groups, however.

  1. In the System Users Setup Menu, click Assisi Mail Groups. Your existing user groups will be displayed in the Group Name box.

  2. Click on a group name and all active Assisi users will be displayed in the Members box.

  3. Select which members you wish to become members of this Mail Group.

TO SEND A MESSAGE

  1. Click Mail on the Assisi Desktop.
  1. Click Add and then click the Users tile to display a list of your User Groups and individual Users.
  1. Messages can be sent to all members of a User Group/s by clicking the relevant User Group/s; or
  1. to individual User/s by clicking the relevant User/s.

  2. Click Save to add the recipient/s.

  3. Type in the Title/Message as appropriate and click Save to send.

  4. A Message Sent confirmation will be displayed.

  5. An Unread Message Received prompt will be displayed if the user is logged into Assisi and, if not already logged in, the next time that the user does log in.

You can dismiss the prompt temporarily by hovering your cursor over the message and clicking the cross in the top right hand corner of the message (although it will temporarily disappear automatically after about 5 seconds). The prompt will continue to re-appear, however, until user has read the message.

TO READ AND RESPOND TO A MESSAGE

  2. Double-click the message to read it.

  1. From here you can reply to the message or forward it to another user.

  2. To delete the message, click back to the Assisi Mail Console, click the message to be deleted and click Delete.
