CHARGE FILE SYNC - Download/Update Stock/Fee Files etc. required for booking work.
TRANSACTION / APPS SYNC – This is the equivalent of the old Quick Sync and updates appointments / Pushes work back to Assisi / Downloads Animal records which have appointments.
These first two options are all that is needed to get a device up and running. There is no need to do a full client details sync if you don’t want to be able to search for any active owner, whether they have an appointment or not.
The other two sync options on the sync menu are
FULL CLIENTS INITIALISE – This deletes your devices owner and animal records and reloads them from the portal as fast as possible using bulk inserts. This is the option you should use on your first attempt to load all the active clients and animal records. This could still take several hours to complete, consider keeping your device connected to a mains power supply. You can use this option to reset your client database at any time.
CLIENTS UPDATE – This is similar to “FULL CLIENTS INITIALISE” in that it attempts to update the full client details with any changes, but it does this without clearing the file and starting again. Once you have completed a “FULL CLIENTS INITIALISE” this will be the fastest way to keep the histories up to date. It is however, worth remembering that any client/animal record which has an appointment on your device is updated automatically anyway.
Add-Hoc Sync Options.
It is now possible to “Refresh” your appointments list from the appointment list as long as you have network access.
It is now possible to check for updates to an animal history from the animal details screen if you have network access. This could be useful if when on a visit you are asked to see another animal which did not have an appointment booked.
USAGE CONSIDERATIONS
When starting with a brand-new device (phone/tablet) they will often require 3-4 hours to update themselves over the internet. Allow all this to complete before installing Assisi Offsite and trying to sync the data.
Appointments MUST HAVE AN ANIMAL REFERENCE, or they will not appear on the device. This is because you cannot book out work without an animal reference.
Once an appointment has synced to a device, simply moving it to another room in Assisi will not remove it from the device. It must be cancelled and rebooked in Assisi. This triggers the “Remove from Device” procedure, moving it to another room does not. Appointments are referenced by a unique reference number, not room and time.
