PRINTING AND SAVING PRESCRIPTIONS

Prescription templates can be set up as per consent forms and can be personalised with client/animal data by inserting field tokens.

The templates can be linked to a fee and automatically displayed when the fee is charged. You can fill in the prescription details and save the completed prescription in the animal’s Digital folder.

Creating a Prescription Template

The templates should be created as Open Office documents and all of the standard, non-variable text added first. Field tokens can then be added to the template as follows to import customised data:-

  1. Position your cursor where the field token is to be inserted.

  2. Click Insert/Fields/Other.

  3. On the Database tab, click Mail Merge Fields in the Type box.

  4. Click the + symbol alongside MiddleMan in the Database Selection box. This displays a list of tables in which data is stored in Assisi.

  5. Scroll down the list of tables and click the + symbol alongside the ServiceDocTokens table. This displays the available field tokens for information sheets that can be linked to individual Service Fee codes.

  6. Click on a token to insert it into the template and click Insert (or double-click the token).

  7. Reposition the cursor and repeat until all of the required tokens have been inserted.

  8. To Format Dates: Date type fields, eg date of birth, should be formatted before you insert them into your document, otherwise the default format displays a time as well as the date. To do so, before you click Insert:

  9. In the Format box, click User Defined and select > Additional formats … from the formats drop-down box.

  10. In the Category box, click on Date.

  11. In the Format box, select your preferred date format.

  1. Display your prescription fee and click the Information tile.
  1. Click the Browse tile to search for and select the template to be linked.

  2. If you wish to save a copy of the prescription, click on the template name and click the Properties tile.

Personalise: Tick this box – this will ensure that personalised details are imported into the prescription.

Store Copy In: The document will be saved in a sub-folder in the animal’s Digital folder. This field specifies the name of the sub-folder.

  1. Click the tick.

Generating a Prescription

  1. Charge the prescription fee and ensure that the Produce Info Sheets selection box is ticked as you are adding the fee.

  2. When you click Continue, the prescription template will be displayed (there may be a slight delay before the document opens) with the personalised data included. This basic prescription will be automatically saved in the animal’s Digital folder at this point.

  3. You can now enter the variable prescription details and print the prescription.

  4. Click Save to ensure that the saved document has been updated to include the prescription details before closing Open Office.

Viewing the Prescription in the Digital Folder

  1. Click the Digital tile on the animal screen and click Browse Linked Folder.
  1. Double-click the Prescription folder and the document will be displayed for selection.
