CONNECT TO ASSISI ON YOUR ON-LINE SERVER

There are two ways to connect to your online server from your practice workstation or laptop. There are two usernames and passwords involved – one set to log into Windows and one set to log into Assisi.

Remote Desktop Connection (Windows RDP)

Depending upon the type of workstation that you are using, an RDP session will be configured by our engineer, wherever possible, and saved as a shortcut on your local desktop. If this is so, you will be able to double-click this shortcut to launch the RDP connection, and click Connect, to connect automatically to your server, as your username and password will already be built in to that shortcut.

Remote Desktop Connection Bar

There will be a taskbar on the right hand side of the screen that will give you access to Assisi.

If you log onto your server using a Remote Desktop Connection, once connected, there will be a connection bar displayed at the top of the screen which allows you to minimise the connection to give you access to your local workstation.

If you wish to close your session, do not click the cross on the connection bar without first logging out of Windows as this will leave the connection to the server open in the background. Log out of Windows first and this will close your session at the same time – see notes overleaf.

2. To Connect to Your Online Server Using Your Internet Browser:

In the meantime, until you have RDP shortcuts installed on your local machines, you have also been allocated a connection URL (internet web address) for you to use as an alternative way to connect to your server. You can connect using this web address directly in your own internet browser.

In the Web Address Field, type in: https://###.assisi-cloud.net and press the Enter key.

On the Windows logon screen prompt:

Each workstation will have its own Windows Username. You have ### usernames configured – A1 TO A##. It is important that you log in to your server using the Windows username assigned to your workstation, as different printers may be linked to each username. These will be allocated to each local workstations by our engineer during his installation visit.

Type in:

  1. Your User Name: (Until specific usernames have been allocated, you can use any to log in. However, only one person at a time can log on with each username.)
  1. Your Password: ####

(Use the same password for all Windows usernames. Passwords are case specific and the question mark is part of the password.)

  1. Click Log on.

Once You Are Connected To Your server, Log Into Assisi

  1. When you have connected to your online server, by whichever method, single-click the Assisi shortcut on the sidebar and the Assisi logon prompt will be displayed.

  2. Enter your own Assisi Username and Password. A temporary username and password has been created for you to use until you have set up your own users. These are:

Username: Admin Password: theos

You should use your own username as soon as this has been configured. Do not use this temporary Assisi username once you have started using Assisi live.

  1. Click Login or press Enter and Assisi will open and the Assisi Desktop will be displayed, ready for you to begin using the system.

To Minimise Assisi

From the Assisi Desktop, click the minimise button in the top right-hand corner of the Assisi Desktop screen. Assisi will be minimised and the Desktop shortcut will be displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

To maximise Assisi once more, click this Desktop shortcut. It is best not to open multiple copies of Assisi at the same time.

To Close Assisi

From the Assisi Desktop, click the cross in the top right-hand corner of the Assisi Desktop screen.

To Log Off the Server

Don’t:

  • click the cross on the Remote Connection Bar at the top of the screen if you are connected by a Remote Desktop connection or

  • close your internet browser tab if you are connected via your internet browser.

Instead, log off your server as follows and your session will close automatically.

  1. Once you have closed all active applications/documents, click on the Windows button in the Task Bar to display the logoff prompt.
  1. At the Do you wish to quit your session? prompt, click Yes.

Transferring Documents From Your Own Workstation To Your Online Server

  • If you are connected to your server via an RDP connection, you will be able to copy and paste documents from your own workstation into the Desktop folder of your online server.

  • If you are connected to your Server via an internet browser, you can transfer files as follows:

  • Save the document that you want to attach – or use - on the desktop of your own local workstation (or somewhere you will be able to find it easily later).

  1. On your online server, click the down arrow that appears in the top centre of the server desktop screen to display the following Menu.

From PC From Server

To Server to PC

  1. Click the button that says From PC to Server.

  2. You are now browsing your own workstation for the document to be transferred. Find your document and double-click it (don't click open).

  3. A File Transfer box will be displayed on the right of the screen with the selected document name displayed and the document will be automatically transferred to your Server Desktop Folder. Repeat from Item 3 if you wish to transfer more than one document.

Note: You can click the cross on the right-hand side of a document to remove any document that has been included incorrectly.

  1. When all of your documents have been transferred to the server in this way and to link a document to an animal, go to Assisi and open the animal’s record to which the first document is to be linked.

  2. Click the Digital tile, on the left-hand toolbar on the animal screen.

  3. Click on Import Image File.

  4. Browse for your document on the online server’s desktop.

  5. Double-click it on the server’s desktop and a new Confirm Import window will open, from where you can rename the document now if you wish and/or change the date. Close the Transfer Box and click the tick in the bottom right-hand corner of the Confirm Import screen.

  6. You will then be prompted that the file has been successfully imported and saved against the animal’s record. Click OK to continue.

  7. You will need to refresh the animal history screen before the link to the document is displayed in the history. To do so, click the History tile on the right-hand toolbar or close the animal record and re-open it.  A link to the document will be displayed in the animal’s history. You can double click this link to view the document.

  8. You can also view the document from the animal’s digital folder.

  9. Continue in this way if you still have documents to link to other animals.

Transferring Stock Price Update Files

Transfer the file to the server as previously outlined and, once it is in the server’s Desktop Folder, browse for it, as follows:

  1. Click Settings on the Assisi Desktop.

  2. Click Stock and then Import Wholesaler File.

  3. You will be able to browse for the update file in the online server Desktop Folder and follow the handout notes on the A1 desktop for processing the price update.
